How to Recover Deleted Photos, Videos, Music – Step by Step
Preparation: Connect the device where your deleted photos located. If you are using an external storage media such as a memory card, USB flash drive etc, connect it to your computer first of all and it should appear as “Removable Disk Drive” under “My Computer”.

- STEP 1 : Download and install PhotoRetrieval on your computer. Open the software, you’ll see “Welcome to Recovery Wizard”. Click Next. Then choose the drive (highlight it) you want to retrieve photos from. Then click Next.
- STEP 2 : Select the photo types you want PhotoRetrieval to recover. You can also highlight “select all file type” option on the left bottom side. Then click Next button.
- STEP 3: Now PhotoRetrieval will start to scan for the lost photos, after a while there will be a lot of ones found and displayed on the program interface. You can right click and choose Preview to evaluate the quality in advance. If all your photos are found, you can abort the scan by click Cancel button. And then click Next button to recover them.

- STEP 1 : Download and install Photo Recovery on your computer. Open the software, you’ll see main interface like below. Click 'Start Scan' icon or the button to continue.
- STEP 2 : Then please choose the drive (highlight it) you want to retrieve photos and media files from. Note: here you also have the option of 'Advance Scan' that enables you to customize the recovery on the basis of file types. Select the desired file types for recovery and click 'Start Scan'.
- STEP 3: Now the program will start to scan for your lost photos and other types of files. The found items are listed in a tree view in the left panel of the software interface. When the scanning process is completed (you can abort the scan by click 'Stop' button), there will be a lot of files found and displayed. Operate through the directory tree on the left part and preview those pictures, even videos and music to evaluate the quality in advance. After confirmation, then click the rotating button “Recover” and save recovered files to another drive.
- Before you use the photo recovery software, you should stop any activity on the storage device. Do not save more files or edit more data to the source drive.
- If the above photo recovery tools have found your lost photos, videos or music in the scanning process, it is highly recommended NOT to run any other applications or edit any data on the drive where your deleted photos located.
- You’d better save the recovered photos, movies or audio to another drive instead of the source drive.
